Take Flight – Part 1: Early Registration Days

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Montevallo! The entire UM family is looking forward to welcoming you to campus and assisting you with your transition to college through our two part Take Flight program.

Part 1:  Early Orientation and Registration Days are designed for new students coming to UM. The first step in Take Flight is attending one of the Early Orientation and Registration Days for new students. During the Early Registration Day, you will:

• Meet with an academic advisor to discuss your program of study and develop a class schedule for your first semester.

• Hear from faculty and staff about classroom experiences and campus services.

• Explore the Montevallo campus with your Orientation Leader and meet fellow UM students.

• Learn about the rich traditions of Montevallo and the next steps to take before your first semester begins.

Part 2 in Take Flight is the orientation Welcome Weekend that takes place three days before classes start and will focus on getting to know other students through campus life events planned especially for you.  You will be expected to attend this event so additional registration is not required.  More information will be coming your way regarding this fun filled and informative weekend during your Early Registration Day.  Events will begin with move-in for residential students on August 23rd and culminate with activites on August 25th.

There is also a Parent Program during Early Registration Day for parents of entering students. While the parent program is not mandatory, parents are strongly encouraged to attend the program.

To register for your Early Orientation and Registration Day, please fill out and submit the information below. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration once it is reviewed by an admission counselor.  It is important that you register early since the enrollment in each session is limited.
