A campus visit may be the single most important part of the college decision making process. It’s your opportunity to walk the quads, see a classroom, the caf and even a room in one of our residence halls. But most importantly, a visit offers the chance to speak with a current UM student. The Office of Admissions offers two types of visit opportunities; the Purple Tour or Gold Tour.
The Purple Tour is offered every Monday through Friday at 10AM and 2PM and the first Saturday of each month at 10AM. Your visit will include the chance to meet with an Admissions representative and then tour the campus with one of our Montevallo Mavens. If you are interested in speaking with a faculty member from a particular department, let us know and we can arrange a meeting.
However, if you really want to experience what life as a student at Montevallo is like, we suggest you take advantage of our Gold tour. The Gold Tour offers you the opportunity to sit in an actual class with current UM students, tour campus with a Montevallo Maven, speak with an Admissions representative, and have lunch in the student cafeteria, compliments of the University. The Gold Tour is offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning at 9AM. If you are scheduling your tour online, simply indicate in the drop box below whether you would like to sign up for the Gold Tour or Purple Tour. We look forward to having you on campus!

Special Events
Throughout the year, the Office of Admissions offers opportunities to visit campus outside of a normal tour. Whether it’s Preview Day, College Night Reception, or Accepted Student Reception, we would love to have you attend our events. Check the calendar below for upcoming events; we hope to see you there!

Directions to the Admissions Office
From the North: Take I-65 South to the Exit 238. Turn right off the ramp onto Highway 31. At the first traffic light, turn left on Highway 119. Take Highway 119 to downtown Montevallo (eleven miles). As you approach Montevallo, you will come upon your first traffic signal; immediately after the traffic signal turn right on Highland Street and the entrance to campus is three blocks ahead. Once you arrive on campus, follow the signs for Palmer Hall and the Admissions Office. The Admissions Office is located on the first floor of Palmer Hall. Designated tour parking spots are located in the lot beside Palmer Hall.
From the West: Travel I-20/59 East to I-459 by-pass. Continue on I-459 to I-65 South. Take I-65 South to Exit 238. Turn right off the ramp onto Highway 31.
